At the request of Madame Chirac and inspired by a design from the Musée de Sèvres, the Matignon collection elegantly blends classic décor with gold-accented foliage, reflecting the grandeur of the Hotel Matignon's historic grounds. Created by Robert Haviland and C. Parlon in collaboration with the French Prime Minister in 1974, this distinguished dinnerware, adorned with a colorful rim framed by a fine line of matte gold and a gold border, has served as the official porcelain of the Prime Minister's residence. It is frequently used for formal dinners with Ambassadors and Heads of State at the Hotel Matignon, which is the official Prime Minister's Palace in Paris.

Meet the Designer

Haviland & Parlon was established back in the early 1800s by the Haviland brothers from Limoges. After many years of refining the technique of producing beautiful china, the brand has been acknowledged as one of the most esteemed French manufacturers of luxury products. In 2020, Haviland & Parlon was taken over by a new, young, and dynamic team to perpetuate its spirit of excellence and high-quality craftsmanship, which have made the company famous for over a century. The new team, led by two sisters, Marie-Amélie and Marie-Caroline Guillot, is committed to preserving the DNA of the company based on extreme quality, exceptional manual know-how, and great creativity in the decorations.
