Martino Gamper, renowned for his curiosity and radical approach to experimentation, reimagines the classic Double Old Fashioned whiskey tumbler through a dynamic interplay of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Each piece undergoes a meticulous transformation—cutting, engraving, polishing, sandblasting, hand-painting, gilding, and lustre painting—elevating its form with intricate ornamentation. “I wanted to take on the challenge of creating a contemporary ornament using traditional Lobmeyr techniques,” Gamper explains. This project was conceived as part of the Vienna Design Week 2016 “Passionswege” initiative.
