Designed by Louise Rath in 2020 to mark the United Nations' Decade of the Ocean, the High Seas collection invites us to reflect on the beauty and fragility of our waters. Hand-painted scenes depict enigmatic mermaids, delicate marine life, an oil rig, and a lone figure—each element a reminder of the ocean’s vastness and vulnerability. Look closely, and you’ll find an anchor, a quiet symbol of hope.

As French philosopher Blaise Pascal observed nearly 400 years ago, “The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble.” Let us ensure the waters remain balanced—neither acidic nor, as the German word sauer suggests, angry.
